We love Salem, Oregon as much as you do for many reasons!  Salem, is the second biggest city in Oregon and is in the midst of a sustained, steady growth. Despite its size, it has a small-town feel and family-friendly atmosphere. Located in the center of the Willamette River valley, Salem is a short trip away from Portland, the Cascade Mountains, beaches, orchards, vineyards, and many historical and cultural attractions. To explore Salem’s history and culture, visit the Salem Downtown Historic District, Bush house, Deepwater Estate, Willamette Heritage Center, Oregon State Capitol, and the Gilbert House Children’s Museum. For outdoor recreation, enthusiasts have plenty of options in Salem, which has more than 2,100 acres of parkland and outdoor amenities for golfing, biking, fishing, and boating. Visit the Minto-Brown Island Park on the west side of the city. It is the largest recreation space in Salem and features wetlands, woodlands, open prairies, and trails. The best way to experience Minto-Brown is by biking through its 30-miles of paved path that wind throughout the park. Other places in Salem that are perfect for biking include the Wallace Bike Park, Silver Falls State Park, Silver Falls State Park, Willamette Mission State Park, and the Champoeg State Heritage Area. With plenty of bike-friendly trails, no wonder Salem is one of the top 50 cities in the U.S. for biking. The capital city also boasts of many beautiful gardens and parks that are perfect for spending time with family and friends. Explore Bush’s Pasture Park, River Park, Cascades Gateway Park, Oregon State Capitol State Park, Deepwood Museum and Gardens, and the Oregon Garden which even has a unique Children’s garden with an interactive in-ground Hobbit house, tree fort, kid-friendly plants and attractions. In the spring, Salem is a breathtaking sight, which is kicked-off with a Tulip Festival at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. Schreiner’s Iris Gardens features 500 varieties of Tulips, and Adelman Peony Garden is a peony paradise with hundreds of varieties of spectacular blooms.

After exploring the wonderful sights and sounds around the city, unwind for food and drinks at some local hot spots.
