Located midway between Mt. Hood and the Oregon Coast, it’s also a short trip away from the Gorge, Crater Lake, Mt. St. Helens, Willamette Valley, and the Columbia River. It’s got great neighborhoods too like the Highlands, Vose, Triple Creek, Raleigh West, Sexton Mountains, and so many others. There is never a shortage of things to do or places to visit in Beaverton.
There are more than 100 parks, 30 miles of hiking trails, and 25 miles of bike paths to enjoy the outdoors. The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District in Beaverton is the largest special park district in the state and offers 70 miles of trails, eight swim centers, 6 recreational centers, and about 1,500 acres of natural areas. There is also Cooper Mountain Nature Park that is a must-visit. The 230-acre park offers grand views of the Chehalem Mountains and 3 ½ miles of trails that pass through woodlands, prairies, and conifer forests. Hyland Forest Park, and Rock Creek Trail are also great options for outdoor recreation.
Beaverton is also home to some exemplary restaurants in a variety of cuisines. Some very interesting restaurants to try: Apna Chat Bhavan, a family-run Indian food graining wide popularity, Taste of Sichuan Beaverton for delicious Chinese dumplings and noodles, Oyatsupan Bakers for dreamy Japanese bread, pastries, and sandwiches; Ikenohana offering sushi and other Japanese dishes, Boriken Restaurant for Puerto Rican cuisine, Decarli for Italian fine-dining experience, and Yuzu for delicious ramen. For chocolate enthusiasts, visit Moonstruck Chocolate in downtown Beaverton to sample some great flavors. Beaverton also has several microbreweries, including Craft Pour House which is a must-try. Every Saturday from Spring until Thanksgiving, you can visit the Beaverton Farmers Market for great local produce and artisan food products.
