We love Vancouver as much as you do for many reasons! Vancouver is green and has the charm and hospitality of a small urban town, while offering amenities of a large metropolitan city. Situated just across the Columbia River from Portland Oregon, it is a short trip away from Mt. St. Helens, Cascade Mountains, Oregon Coast, and Mt. Hood. It has great neighborhoods too like Fisher’s Creek, Felida, Wildwood, Salmon Creek, Esther Short, Arnada, Lake Shore, Cascade Highlands, and so many others.
There are lots of things to do in Vancouver. For history and art enthusiasts, visit the Clark County Historical Museum, the Pearson Field and Museum, Kiggins Theatre, Columbia Dance Center, Aurora Gallery, and various other galleries scattered in downtown. For outdoor recreation, Vancouver has about 191 area parks and millions of square miles dedicated for outdoor space. There is David Douglas Park, Marshall Park, Marine Park, Pacific Community Park, Waterfront Renaissance Trail, Briddlewood Park, and Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park just to name a few. Some parks allow boating, fishing, and swimming. If all the outdoor fun is making you hungry, Vancouver offers many dining options that are friendly and downright delicious, such as La Bottega, Vinnie’s Pizza, Billy Blues Bar & Grill, Blind Onion, C’est La Vie, Boomerang Bistro, and Casa Colima. There are also food trucks and pods for casual diners and adventurous foodies alike. Not to miss are Stanwich, Mack Shack, Coast to Cost, Papa Joe’s BBQ, La Raza, Ingrid’s, La Costena, and Mighty Bowl. When you’ve had enough of Vancouver’s fabulous food and drinks, and need to get a little exercise, grab your bike and pedal through the many scenic trails in and around the city like the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail, Cougar Trails, Burnt Bridge Creek Trail, and Discovery Trail. Sports in Vancouver are a fun time for any age or activity level; Skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Hood or Mt. Bachelor, golfing at Fairway Village, Pine Crest or Lakeview and kayaking or canoeing on the East Fork Lewis River and Vancouver Lake.
