TMG Cares Volunteers Make Improvements at West Columbia Gorge Humane Society

Celebrating 30 Years of Compassion: TMG Cares Volunteers at West Columbia Gorge Humane Society

June 25, 2024  |  At TMG Cares, we believe in the power of community and the impact of collective efforts. Our most recent volunteer event was extra special as we joined the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society in celebrating their 30th anniversary. A dedicated team of volunteers from the TMG Family of Companies gathered to lend a helping hand to this remarkable organization, which has been a pillar of animal care and compassion for three decades.

Painting, Cleaning, and Restoring:

The day began with a splash of color as our volunteers painted a dog house, transforming it into a vibrant and welcoming space for its furry inhabitants. Next, they tackled the overgrown blackberries and weeds that had encroached on the property, clearing the way for a more pleasant and safe environment for both the animals and visitors. The power washer was then brought out, and the dog shelter building received a much-needed cleaning, leaving it looking fresh and new.

Attention to Detail:

No corner was overlooked as volunteers painted the donation drop-off box, giving it a bright and inviting appearance. Inside, the team cleaned cat kennels, changed litter boxes, and folded blankets for the cats and kittens, ensuring they had a clean and comfortable space. They also restocked supplies, ensuring the shelter had everything it needed to care for its feline residents.

Improving Infrastructure:

Beyond cleaning and painting, our volunteers also got their hands dirty replacing irrigation pipes for the watering system, which is crucial for maintaining the shelter's grounds. They swept the front walkways and ramps, making sure the entrance to the shelter was tidy and welcoming.

Spreading Joy:

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly spending time with the animals. Volunteers played with the kittens, providing them with much-needed socialization and love. It was a heartwarming experience that underscored the importance of human interaction in the animals' lives.

Celebrating a Milestone:

This event was particularly meaningful as it marked the 30th anniversary of the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society. For three decades, the shelter has been a beacon of hope and compassion, providing care and finding loving homes for countless animals. Our team was honored to contribute to their legacy and help ensure that they can continue their vital work for years to come.

Why We Do It:

At TMG Cares, our mission is to make a tangible difference in our communities. The West Columbia Gorge Humane Society provides a vital service by caring for and finding homes for animals in need. Our team is proud to support their efforts and contribute to the well-being of these animals. Every brushstroke, every weed pulled, and every cuddle with a kitten is a step towards creating a better environment for these animals and supporting the shelter’s mission.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who participated and to the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society for allowing us to be a part of their important work. Together, we can create a brighter future for our community’s animals and inspire others to join us in our efforts.
