October 2024 | TMG Cares united communities across Portland and Southwest Washington to support local women and children in need through their annual Sock Drive. With the collective effort of seven local schools and community partner A-Temp Heating and Cooling, which served as sock-collection hubs, and the generous contributions of families, businesses, and community members, this year’s drive brought in an incredible 4,800 pairs of socks.
These socks, valued at over $10,900, were donated to TMG Cares' trusted community partners, including Cloth+Foster in Southwest Washington, Project Lemonade in Portland, and Grace Collective in Tri-Cities, Washington. Each pair represents not only warmth and comfort but also the compassion and dedication of a community committed to making a difference.
A small portion of these socks found their way into holiday stockings for foster kids and women in transitional housing. TMG Cares assembled and distributed 200 stockings to foster children at Cloth+Foster’s annual holiday party and filled an additional 100 stockings for women and children staying at Grace Collective.
These heartfelt contributions showcase the power of community collaboration. A massive thank you goes out to our local business sponsors for their generous support: Mr. Plywood, A-Temp Heating and Cooling, and Final Touch Painting. The TMG Family of companies also generously matched employee donations and made volunteer hours possible through a culture of giving back to the community that they embody within the workplace. Together, these efforts ensured that hundreds of women and children in need received essential items to help them through the colder months.
