TMG Cares Hosts First Trunk or Treat for Foster Kids

A Spook-tacular Celebration for Foster Children

October 29, 2024  |  The Halloween spirit filled the air as the TMG Family of Companies turned their Vancouver, WA, headquarters into a bustling Trunk or Treat event for local foster children. Working in collaboration with community partner Cloth & Foster, TMG Cares pulled out all the stops to create a memorable night of joy, fun, and a few well-placed spooky thrills for over 150 attendees, including 88 foster children. With creativity in full swing, the parking lot overflowed with over 37 themed trunks and booths, each designed with one goal in mind: to bring smiles to the kids’ faces.

The TMG Family of Company’s Vancouver office parking lots were transformed into an enchanting realm where trunk setups ranged from adorable to spine-chilling, each offering games, activities, and plenty of treats. From picking up a bag of fresh-spun cotton candy to gathering candy from bowlfuls at each stop, the kids were immersed in a night of Halloween fun. Local businesses jumped in, too, with booths and decorated trunks contributed by McDonald's, Burgerville, Papa Murphy's, Denim and Frills Resale, US Banks, and even the Vancouver Police Department.

One of the most anticipated features was the TMG trunk competition. Six creative TMG employee teams went head-to-head, or rather, trunk-to-trunk, with spooky displays and interactive experiences. Two trunks tied for first place - a haunting ghost-themed trunk and gaming tent created by the Ghoulie Girls which even featured hand-made treat bags for the kids, and the Mischief Managed Harry Potter-themed trunk, complete with an immersive tent that whisked guests straight into the wizarding world, enchanting kids and adults alike. The coven-ted second place awards went to the two spell-bound witch-themed trunks, Hocus Pocus and Witchy Kitchen.

Costumes were everywhere, from cute princesses to chilling skeletons, as kids enjoyed the unique Halloween celebration. In partnership with Cloth & Foster, TMG Cares collaborated on not only the event's logistical details but also invitations to ensure each foster child and family in attendance had a welcoming and exciting experience. Cloth & Foster’s commitment to supporting local foster families helped inspire the amazing turnout from local businesses, each adding their flair to the festivities.

This Trunk or Treat marked a memorable first for TMG Cares. With so many positive moments, heartwarming smiles, and a community-wide response, there’s no doubt that this will become an annual tradition. The TMG Family of Companies is already looking forward to making next year’s Trunk or Treat an even bigger and better celebration for the kids.
